HOLD A FUNDRAISER

Alliance Africa depends on a broad network of supporters—from individuals and corporations to schools and churches, from civic groups and college organizations to fraternities and sororities.

If you would like to expand our network, spread our message, and raise support, we invite you to hold a fundraiser. However large or small, fundraisers enable us to build our Alliance and support communities in Africa.

For fundraising ideas based on our past experience, please see our fundraising success stories below, or contact us.

FUNDRAISING SUCCESS STORIES

Several groups have worked diligently and creatively to raise support for Alliance Africa:

Eta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity, University of Mississippi
Eta Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of Mississippi is one of Alliance Africa’s closest friends. Led by Philanthropy Chairman, Patrick Woodyard, the Sigma Chi brothers learned about Alliance Africa and offered to help. Members raised money by selling ads for the university’s Derby Days charity event and sending letters to parents and alumni. So far, the Eta Chapter of Sigma Chi has raised over $23,000 for Alliance Africa.

Hope for Africa, University of Mississippi
A strong supporter of Alliance Africa, Hope for Africa is a student organization at the University of Mississippi that seeks to raise awareness and support for sustainable development in Africa  (leaders shown above with Co-Founder Michael Lamb at right and Director Kenneth Townsend at left). When this group of motivated student leaders learned about needs in Africa, they contacted Alliance Africa and then created a student organization at the University of Mississippi. In addition to meeting regularly to discuss issues and plan activities, they have raised support and awareness by sending letters and emails, designing and selling t-shirts, creating a Facebook group, and organizing benefit concerts, picnics, and art sales for Alliance Africa. They have begun a movement at Ole Miss and have raised over $5,000 for Alliance Africa.
